Hiking, swimming, bird watching, fishing and wildlife sitings are popular in Tapanti. If you want to fish, you need a permit which may be obtained from the park rangers.


Birds are abundant in Tapanti. See quetzals, sparrow hawks, hummingbirds, trogons and toucanets.


With 45 species of mammals, tapirs, white-nosed coatis, aguoutis, ocelots and jaguarundi can be found.
